“Research clearly shows that improving school climate leads to better academic results for students."
 - National School Climate Council -

The mission of the New England Center for School Climate and Learning is to help schools achieve greater academic success by promoting respectful teaching and improving school climate.

The Center provides comprehensive and effective school climate research, assessment tools and services and exciting professional development opportunities for teachers, student leaders, and school administrators.

Our programs and services are designed to help educators develop and implement data-driven action plans to prevent bullying and school violence, reduce dropouts, and re-engage disengaged learners. We accomplish this by helping schools improve their discipline systems, enhance teacher effectiveness, and expand student engagement in school and learning.

The launch of the New England Center for School Climate and Learning coincides with the development of National School Climate Standards, the reauthorization of the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program, and a new National School Climate Improvement Initiative; all of which will generate new resources and deepen the capacity of schools to more effectively address these important issues.
