Recent Program Evaluation Work.

  • Benchmark Education Company, Pelham, New York
    During the 2005-2006 school year, MSA conducted a quazi-experimental evaluation of Benchmark's Comprehensive Literacy Program in six elementary schools in Tyler, TX. Qualitative and quantitative data showed the Benchmark program had positive effects on student learning in reading fluency, reading comprehension, and listening skills, as well as important effects on teachers’ approaches to literacy instruction.

  • Howbrite Solutions Inc. Cokato, Minnesota
    During the 2004-2005 school year, MSA evaluated the effects of the MathLine multi-sensory math manipulative program on student learning in mathematics, as measured by the AGS Standardized Mathematics Test.

  • Sunburst Visual Media, Hawthorne, New York
    This study examined students’ levels of awareness, knowledge, skills, and attitudes about empathy, respect, anger management, bullying, conflict resolution, as well as their perceptions of school climate, following the use of Sunburst materials.

  • Very Special Arts of New Hampshire, Concord, New Hampshire
    During this study, MSA examined existing research on arts integration programs, documented research-based model programs in the state of NH, and designed a research process to clearly demonstrate the effects of successful arts integration programs on students and their learning.

  • Master Innovations, Inc., Alpha, New Jersey
    In 2005, MSA conducted a rigorous evaluation of the Master Ruler program, a multi-sensory math manipulative program invented by Master Innovations, LLC, designed to help make measurement more concrete and understandable for young learners. The study employed a pre-post, quasi-experimental design that seeks to meet the highest standards of scientific program evaluation.
